[MOTIVATION] Throughout history, art and aesthetics have been a fundamental part of human life. Our ancestors carved their life stories in caves, and temples, whereas in our postmodern society, individuals have become detached from art and began observing rather than understanding its aesthetic reactions. Art reflects life occurrences, believes and fantasies. This study will tackle the following questions: To which extent can art generate erotic fantasies and aesthetics on canvas? Which notions and techniques in erotic abstract painting may be used to project, and visualize aesthetics of one’s ...

In this work we discuss a special kind of stochastic processesX=〖{X_t}〗_(〖t∈R〗_(≥0) ) that are of exceptional interest from both the theoretical ad the applied points of view. These processes are called Affine Processes, and are characterized by the fact that their characteristic function has the form of an exponential of an affine function, i.e. by 〖∅^x〗_X (u) |_t=E^x [e^(<X_(t ),u>) ]=e^(Φ(t,u)+<x,Ψ(t,u)>), Where the exponent Φ(t,u)+ <x,Ψ(t,u)> Is an affine function of its initial state x in the state-space E=〖R^m〗_(≥0)×R^n. The above expectation E^x is the expectation which respect to the ...

Lebanon is undergoing a critical economic crisis due to many internal and external factors. This crisis that started in 2015 is showcased clearly in the housing construction sector amplified by the decision of the Central Bank to suspend all subsidized housing loans in 2018. This resulted in an aggravated situation for young couples and low-income households who were heavily relying on these banking facilities. As part of the global strategy to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emission, affordable sustainable housing is highlighted as a major aspect for providing the low-income ...

This paper studies how each television covers war using different type of frames based on its agenda setting. Depending on an extensive literature review analysis dealing with similar international and local conflicts and wars, this study links between what happened in the past in other countries and cities and the war in Aleppo. The paper raises four main research questions: RQ1: how much importance did the television stations give to the Aleppo situation?, RQ2: did the newscasts present both sides (opposition and regime) of the story?, RQ3: what type of language was used by each channel to ...

This thesis examines the different type of agents, and how they help evolve the world around, most particularly the way business are undertaken and handled. The following work is based upon the DALIA environment, which stands for Distributed Autonomous and Linguistically Competent Agents. In this work I have extended and improved the DALIA agent negotiation aspect, where two agents are involved in an offer and counter-offer negotiations. The model presented by DALIA for the offers and counter offers ia investigated and the weak points in the negotiation paradigm are identified. A strategy is ...

The purpose of this dissertation is to study pseudo-Riemannian algebras, which are algebras with pseudo-Riemannian non-degenerate symmetric bilinear forms. The paper([1]), the authors Zhiqi Chen, Ke Liang, and Fuhai Zhu find that pseudo-Riemannian algebras whose left centers are isotropic play a key role and show that the decomposition of pseudo-Riemannian algebras whose left centers are isotropic into indecomposable non-degenerate ideals is unique up to a special automorphism. Furthermore, if the left center equals the center, the orthogonal decomposition of any pseudo-Riemannian algebra into ...

Chronic sleep restriction (CSR) has been implicated in higher risk of insulin resistance (IR) and immune-metabolic dysfunction. No studies investigated the effect of CSR on macrophage differentiation in vWAT in relation to leptin synthesis and glucose homeostasis. Therefore, this study aimed at assessing blood glucose levels and vWAT expression of leptin, CD38, and CD163 following CSR. Adult male C57BL/6 mice were housed under 12:12 L/D cycle (lights on at 0700 hrs) with free access to food. Following a two-week acclimatization period, animals were divided into 2 groups: 1) control (C, N=8) ...

The Republic of Korea sought to become an "advanced human rights country" by joining the Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees and Protocol Relating to the Status of Refugees in 1992. In addition, a provision for refugee recognition was established in the Immigration Act in 1993, and the refugee policy was implemented in earnest in 1994. However, contrary to the Korean government's expectation, criticism of the refugee policy continued on the inside and outside of the country, with the birth of the first Korean recognized refugee in 2001. Although the Korean government and the National ...

In this thesis, we will merge into the Lebanese Agriculture Sector, specifically the Bekaa Valley of Lebanon. Study to search excellence in the agriculture and find solutions in making this sector more performant and competitive. This topic was driven by concerns from farmers in our village, Anjar (Bekaa), seeking to make profit from their crops. Unfortunately, the farmers in Lebanon do not have any government support and at the end of the season, if their crops survive they sell them at very low prices to commissioners and not directly to the shops. In order to study the agriculture sector in ...

This research studies the effect of job enrichment as an intrinsic motivational factor on the job satisfaction of Lebanese commercial bank employees in Muhafazat North Lebanon. This research shows whether or not intrinsic motivation such as job enrichment can be differentiated from extrinsic motivation in affecting performance of the employee. Since job satisfaction plays a significant role in affecting employee performance, the importance of job enrichment as a leading factor to job satisfaction is tested empirically.

Anomaly detection is the process of finding outlying record from a given data set. This problem has been of increasing importance due to the increase in the size of the data and the need to efficiently extract those outlying records that can have important indications in real-life problems. Anomaly detection is applied in many different sectors. There are many approaches to solve the anomaly detection problem. However, those that are more widely applicable are unsupervised approaches as they do not require labeled data. The aim of this thesis is to study a well-known anomaly detection technique ...

One of the clinically major gynecological cancers is endometrial carcinoma that develops from the lining of the uterus. During the past years, different approaches have been developed to treat endometrial carcinoma, among which natural herbal medicine has recently faired as an effective method. The yellow Indian spice known as curcumin has been extolled for its healing powers and has recently been adopted for investigation by the scientific community as a potent anti-cancerous agent. Curcumin possesses anticancerous effects by targeting several important players in cell signaling pathways ...

Since the first rise of extended spectrum beta lactamases (ESBL), ESBLproducing organisms have posed a remarkable threat to hospitalized patients due to their activity against cephalosporins, restricting available treatment option. This rapid emergence of ESBLs has been confronted by limited data regarding both phenotypic and genotypic profiles. This lack of information requires more exploration. The aim of this study was, in the first place, to investigate the effect of garlic (A ilium sativum) ethanolic plant extract against ESBL- producing Escherichia co/i and its effect in combination ...

Nowadays, business is not just about making profit; it involves optimizing resources in order to maximize stakeholders’ benefits. Today’s global market relies on Multinational Corporations (MNC) whose ever-increasing impact on global economy made their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policies more open to public scrutiny. The media, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and activist groups have constantly questioned activities of MNCs in developing countries, particularly with regard to issues such as forced labor, bribery, and so on. This present study focuses on these MNCs’ CSR practices ...
