dc.description.abstract This study reviews the extent of the fame of the cedars of Lebanon. The cedars are revealed as a natural wealth, their present state and number is brought into view, their bibical fame is exhibited, and their worldwide fame is investigated. Thus, two objectives are pursued: the evaluation of the volume of tourism business in the hotels in the Cedars area, and the appraisal of the extent of the contribution of the fame of the cedars to the hotels in the Cedars area. The tourism business in the hotels in the Cedars area has been, throughout the early 1990s, mainly generated during both, the Winter ski season and the Summer hot season. However, during the year of 1996, the Summer hot season business volume seems to exceed that of the Winter ski season. Moreover, the domestic tourism was prevalent over international tourism in 1996 for every season and in total. The fame of the cedars is the main reason inciting the hotel residents in the Cedars area to come during the year asa whole. However, the fame of the cedars is an undeniable seasonal contributor to the tourism business volume; yet, its effect is more noticeable during the Summer and Spring seasons than the rest of the year. en_US
