Descriptive survey design was utilized in three purposively sampled schools to investigate the influence of vision and mission statements, professional development and infrastructure ...

Grade repetition has been a contentious global subject, especially in contemporary times. While the protagonists of the practice espouse its benefits, the opponents claim its attendant demerits, especially psychological ones, far exceeds its merits hence advocate for its total eradication from the school system. Some chief variables like the self-efficacy and the perception of schooling experiences of the grade repeaters seem ignored, in such debate. The purpose of the study was to investigate whether there exists any difference in self-efficacy between grade repeaters and non-repeaters, and ...

Soft skills have been the subject of much discussion and trending lately. Much research has been done on the relationship between partaking good soft skills and being a better employee. This could be especially true in the field of education, as the process of expectation and planning of the learning experiences showed to improve with the significant development of soft skills of the teachers. In Lebanon, very few studies are conducted on the role of soft skills in those entering the workforce. This research aims to bridge that gap by assessing the knowledge, perceptions, and behaviors of Lebanese ...

  • El Chemor, Hala (Notre Dame University-Louaize, 2021)
School psychology appears to add credibility to the schooling and learning process of children. The profession of school psychology is relatively lesser known and appreciated. • Ghabash, Rasha (Notre Dame University-Louaize, 2022)
The process of teaching students has always been dependent on face-to-face instruction in brick and mortar institutions. Students and teachers meet at the same place and at the same time for learning. However, some incidents around the world could make a change in the medium of instruction. Lebanon’s political and economic volatility serves as an example of shifting educational practices as a corollary of myriad national problems affecting education. The massive popular uprising on October 17, 2019, the pandemic COVID-19, and the Beirut port-blast on August 4,2020 have had their toll on ...
  • Iliopoulos, Krystel Alexandros (Notre Dame University-Louaize, 2022)
Students tend to take a grade and rarely reflect on their performance. Did I do well? What was the main mistake? Is there anything I need help with? How can I improve that grade next time? That same grade that students get either motivates or demotivates them. If students get the chance to set their own goals based on their weakness, and work on an action plan to reach that goal, their view of the grade changes. They will take a grade as an indicator to help them know how well they have acquired a concept or even reached their goal. Based on that reflection, they will be able to know what the ...

The entire world has been dealing with strange events, problems, and situations. Unfortunately, the state of education is quickly impacted by external events. The way education is delivered, and schools are run has changed as a result of these instances. Because of the political, health, and economic crises, Lebanon has been going through a very difficult time, which has made the educational sector more and more unstable. The financial status of most Lebanese families has been impacted by the Lebanese pound's loss of more than 90% of its value without a rise in wages. As a result, many people, ...
  • Takadjian, Patil (Notre Dame University-Louaize, 2023-07)
One of the most vital rights to the human race is education, especially in a school setting. Disruptive behaviors in the classroom can be an obstacle in front of this right. Here comes the importance of managing classroom behavior to provide the best education to students.
